Championship Culture Academy and Showcase Announce New Partnership

Championship Culture Academy (CCA) and Showcase are teaming up to provide athletes, parents and coaches with additional opportunities centered around player development, leadership, exposure and growth.

Led by longtime coach Bob Woodward, CCA brings a development philosophy that goes beyond simply improving an athlete's skills. Through the new partnership, CCA and Showcase plan to combine Woodward’s experience in coaching and player development with Showcase's focus on athlete exposure, recruiting resources, media and promotion.

"I've known Bob for a long time, going back to his years coaching at Troy and Athens, and I've had the opportunity to see what he brings to the game from a lot of different perspectives," said Ed Weaver, Owner of Circle W Sports and Showcase. "I coached against him when I was an assistant at Wellsboro, I've covered his kids, and I've watched the impact he's had on student-athletes throughout our area. There aren't many people who understand both the competitive and developmental sides of sports the way Bob does."

For Woodward, developing athletes is about much more than what happens during competition.

"As a partner, I think we can use our own experiences to really reach out in this area and provide some instruction that otherwise you can't really find," Woodward said. "I think it'll be at a different level, and I think people that love basketball are really going to be pleased with the things that the kids are going to learn. I have a sincere passion beyond the sport itself to try to help kids," added Woodward. "We focused on effort, attitude and team play. I think those particular things the players are in complete control over, and they can carry that throughout their life."

The partnership will begin by bringing CCA and Showcase together through player development, recruiting and exposure opportunities, educational content and Coach's Corner with Bob Woodward. Looking ahead, the two sides plan to expand into areas such as motivational speaking, film sessions, player and coaching clinics, team culture development and additional opportunities for athletes, parents and coaches.

"Bob was one of the toughest coaches I ever coached against," added Weaver. "His teams were always well prepared and you knew you were going to have to earn everything against them. That's what excites me about bringing CCA and Showcase together. Bob has a tremendous amount of basketball knowledge, but more importantly, he understands how to teach young student-athletes the habits, mindset and leadership skills that can help them well beyond basketball."
