Circle W Sports to provide website for Casey L. Patrick Memorial Fund Basketball Game

Wellsboro, PA - Circle W Sports is launching a new website for the Casey L. Patrick Memorial Fund Basketball Game.

The game is named in honor of Casey L Patrick, a 2010 Wellsboro Area High School graduate who passed away in June 2011 from cardiac arrest as a result of a health condition known as Eisenmenger syndrome. Casey loved the game of basketball but could not play because of her condition. She was the manager of the girls team from middle school through high school and even her freshman year of college. Her love the basketball combined with her plans to be a teacher made this game a fitting tribute.

The annual game is a fundraiser for the Casey L. Patrick Memorial Fund which funds the Casey L. Patrick Memorial Scholarship. Proceeds from the game and donations are split between the scholarship and both Wellsboro varsity basketball teams. To date the game has raised $43,801.00 for the scholarship and $10,817.00 for both basketball teams. In the 2019 game raised $1,984.50 to split between the scholarship and the teams with an additional $1,905.00 donation going directly to the scholarship fund.

"We're happy to announce a brand new website for the Casey L. Patrick memorial basketball game," said Casey's brother Drew Patrick. "We hope to provide a place to learn about the Casey Patrick scholarship, learn about the history of the game, and relive some of the best moments from the game. We are happy to partner with Circle W sports and Ed Weaver to bring this website to the public."

Circle W Sports, LLC is the complete high school athletic program, providing teams, athletic departments, and athletic organizations the tools they need to promote their programs and student-athletes. The company unofficially started in 2006 when owner Ed Weaver launched WellsboroFootball.com, the flagship website promoting the Wellsboro Hornet Football team. The organization provides the latest up-to-date scores, statistics, and coverage in this region. Since 2006, WellsboroFootball.com has recorded over three-quarters of a million page views.

Circle W Sports also runs and manages websites for PIAA District IV, the Northern Tier League, the Tioga County Sports Hall of Fame, Vaportrail 24/7, the PIAA District 4 Football Coaches Association, and provides statistical data to Pennsylvania Football News and schedule data for LLHoops.

"I have personally played in the game multiple times and have enjoyed every minute I've been on the roster. I've seen first-hand how the community has supported the Patrick family and this game throughout the years and how the students of Wellsboro benefit from the scholarship. As a former coach it has been fun to play against your past athletes as well as playing alongside members of the community. I hope this games continues for a long time and that we can not only help promote it but showcase it as well while providing information on the scholarship and cause."
